This course will introduce the latest in radiographic imaging. Exposure technique, types of digital imaging and an introduction to the software applications will be
discussed. A review of the ADA/FDA Guidelines for Prescribing Radiographic Exposures will be presented. Become more familiar with current terminology, technique and
interpretation before this new equipment appears in your work setting. Topics include: •A review of the two types of digital imaging
•Advantages and disadvantages of digital imaging •Legal issues surrounding the use of digital imaging •Panoramic and periapical interpretation of landmarks, perio and
caries •I-CAT imaging system •Radiographic prescription Barbara Dawidjan RDH, MEd, is presently a professor of Dental Hygiene at Quinsigamond Community College in
Worcester, MA. She has lectured on different topics of interest nationally and internationally and has publications in various professional journals. She currently serves as
President of the Massachusetts Dental Hygiene Association. Barbara is certified in the administration of Local Anesthesia and Tobacco Cessation.
